Fabrication Operator – Swing Shift
Do you have experience with fabrication equipment? Are you open to a challenge and a fast-paced environment? Atlas Staffing is searching for an Fab Operator for a construction equipment manufacturer in in Boise, Idaho.
Fabricates and works on structural metal products such as framework or shells for machinery, concrete construction equipment, and metal parts by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto work-piece
Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, laser, and saw
Hammers, chips, and grinds work-piece to cut, bend, and straighten metal
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut or bend, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance fabricating, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
Verifies conformance of work-piece to specifications
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
Performs other duties that may be assigned
Experience with fabrication equipment: i.e. brake, shear, laser, rollers, punch and saws.
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction; Demonstrates ability to measure in feet, inches, and thousandths using tape measures and precision tools.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Employee may be exposed to various chemicals such as metal working fluid, brake fluid, parts washer, cleaners, etc.
Noise level in the environment is loud and hearing protection is required.
Shift: Swing Shift Monday – Thursday 3pm – 1:30am
Wage: $16+ DOE
